Slaves!!

This society is completely insane. They sit in a group of sheep, decide some thing on your personal choices eg whether you should marry or not, with whom you should get marry, what should be your age while you are marrying, what should be the age difference between life partners. What ever may be the reasons of marriage they always prefer a suppressed, less empowered, at least three or four years younger girl than a boy.

I personally think this is how society worked for years and kept their patriarchy in place so they can dominate the girls powerfully, economically, physically, sexually and socially. It is again very strange to see how Indian parents hide every thing about the proposal of marriage and try match making behind their children's back and when every thing is fixed they want their children should be ready, prepared to stay with a complete stranger whole their lives whether they are able to make pace or not. They should agree like an obedient child. This semi patriarchy (I call it semi patriarchy because I see women are equally blessed with that chauvinist thinking as men are). Indians are more interested to know the future, education, job etc for their boys and when it is a girl they only wants to know when the marriage will happen, though guaranteed is nothing in today's world. Marriages have been failures. Lovers have been in fake relationship. Love marriages turned in divorce, arranged marriage continued even when women faced drastic domestic violence. I do not know what compelled them to continue in fake rituals that take their life, individuality, suppressed and left you on a brink of psychological collapse. I have known great failed love stories. And I have read stories like Karva Ka Vart by Yashpal where women face domestic violence and still do fast for her husband. I do not call it part of culture rather I will call it blind faith and ignorance to ignore your self respect. That is the reasons women have been puppet of male chauvinism.
