School Days

We are lost,
Some where in this crazy world,
We had a childhood together,
That part is a memory forever,
I do miss old times,
When we were together,
Every morning we greeted,
We let the seat vacate for each other in all morning classes,
The lunch that was packed for the noon,
We often finished it in 2nd class,
Do you remember?
That Hindi teacher,
Did not her Hindi left us speechless,
Or that history teacher,
That never tired of telling stories of kings,
Oh my dear!
Do not we miss that time,
Every morning we greeted,
Vacating seats for each other,
Yes! You were the monitor of class,
The way you scolded roll no 22,
Do you remember her name,
We talked about PHDs,
Getting old we will be a doctor,
And then we dropped the idea,
Still you always wished to be a doctor,
You followed your path,
You became what you wanted to be,
I feel proud to tell your name,
When I am in a crowd,
I proudly tell them my childhood friend is PHD,
Still I miss that little friend of mine,
You remember how we met,
How we became best friends,
I remember every little thing,
We were soul sisters,
We are still soul sisters,
We will be soul sisters,
I miss old version of my sister,
Oh my dear!
You remember all the fights,
You did for me,
I do remember every bit of it,
I do remember every bit of our childhood,
The way we said good byes at the end of schools,
Do you remember that old cycle,
That school room,
Though we have been grown up now,
Busy with our lives,
May be we are not busy,
Like every grown up boy and girl,
We are lost,
We did expect things,
Now we have almost all of them,
But still we are lost,
Now come again here,
Let us come back again,
In that old time,
Those little girls that we used to be,
Those small hairs,
Those white dresses,
We were angels
,
We still like white,
And the world says,
Wear colours,
But I miss white,
Every bit of it makes me pure,
Let us come back again,
Let us travel few mornings together,
Let us bring thosw afteenoons back,
Bring me those evening backs,
Those landline calls,
The days we had no medium of communication,
Still we were too close,
Now we are every where,
Still we do talk in weeks,
Oh my dear!
Bring me the days back,
Bring back that childhood,
Bring back those school days
